Royal Liverpool University Hospital in the early evening light

I had to take a relative to A&E recently. (Everything turned out well in the end). Due to Covid safety measures I was asked to wait outside and so I made this photograph of the Royal Hospital in the early evening light. From the angle where I was standing the Hospital looked very dynamic with the sun creeping over the edge of the building and the streaks of cloud adding some interest to the overall composition.

The first phase of this hospital was designed by Holford Associates and built by Alfred McAlpine between 1963 and 1969. It is soon to be replaced by a new hospital in a nearby location with a planned opening in 2022.
